By Road

Mount Augustus is accessible via unsealed roads from several major towns. Ensure your vehicle is suitable for outback conditions, and check road conditions before traveling.

  • From Carnarvon: 430 km (~6 hrs) via Gascoyne Junction
  • From Meekatharra: 360 km (~5 hrs) via Landor
  • From Paraburdoo: 430 km (~6 hrs)
  • From Geraldton: 660 km (~8 hrs)
  • From Gascoyne Junction: 288 km

4WD is recommended, especially after rain. Carry extra fuel, water, and spare tyres, as roadside services are limited.

By Air

Charter flights to Mount Augustus Airstrip are available from Carnarvon and Meekatharra. Contact local charter companies for availability and pricing.
